The alp is better known as “Alm”. For centuries, the cattle spend their summer on the mountain pastures. In September, the cattle then return to the valley – and this is a traditional celebration every time! For the Alpabtrieb – or alpine pasture drive – the cattle are decorated with paper and real flowers, accompanied by shepherds and music, and are welcomed in the village with refreshments.
The whole thing grows with music and hospitality, sometimes even market stalls to a real Älpler village festival. Do not miss it if you are on vacation in the Taube at this time!
