Discover traditional Montafon living and home culture in the local history museum in Schruns. Here you can see the oldest known Montafon table, an originally furnished apartment, workshops from earlier times, an alpine dairy and a mountain school class. The 500-year-old building functioned as a district prison during the time of National Socialism. A “cell” is dedicated to this chapter of Schruns village history. The history of the Montafon traditional costume is presented in multimedia form.
Only a few steps on foot from the Posthotel Taube is this largest museum of the Montafon. It was founded in 1906 and is therefore also one of the oldest folklore museums in the Alpine region. And definitely worth a visit!
